April Mae was born and raised in Dallas, TX and has spent her life involved in music. At a very early age April began singing (like most singers do) in a church choir. All through her school days she sang in various choirs. April became more serious about her singing in high school, began taking voices lessons and took her talent to the masses by auditioning for her school pop and varsity choirs. Shortly thereafter, her accomplishments included singing at the Mesquite Opry and performing in various musical shows. After graduating from high school, April's singing continued in the local karaoke scene, where her voice range emerged into a wide variety of styles influenced by artists such as Patsy Cline, Sheryl Crowe, Pat Benatar, Steve Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, and Tina Turner just to name a few. April's love and dedication to music and singing has allowed her to excel in the field she is so passionate about...music. Footnote: April joined up with the "Du" to *fill-in* for Lina during the last months of Lina's pregnancy and birth giving. April worked hard to get up to speed and enabled the "Du" to continue Rockin' the Free World :-) and continue to add new material, while Lina took care of some family business. April did a great job and has the admiration, appreciation and graditude of every band member....and continues to sing select tunes with the "Du" at select gigs. |
